Dieting; what you should do - Loss Weight Lose Weight

I rambled on so much in my last loss weight post that I didn't managed to tell you what you should actually do when you're dieting. Let me sort that out now; this is a article written for your reading pleasure about what you should do when you are trying to loss weight by dieting.

Loss Weight Tips - What you really should be doing

Now before I begin handing out these tips I really should warn you against trying to do all of them at once; the weight loss tips I'm going to give you here are major lifestyle changes and you should not attempt to force your life to fit them; it is hard to loss weight and you don't need to make it any harder by juggling 10 lifestyle changes and trying to remember what you are and aren't allowed to do. What I recomend if you want to loss weight is to pick one of these tips and just stick rigidly to it for a week or, if you think you can take it, a month; after you're time is over you can make an informed decision about how you want to go about your diet; wheather or not you want to keep the lifestyle change. No matter what you decide, if you want to loss weight then you should start another week with another tip; the key to losing significant amounts of weight and keeping it off is to make significant long term lifestyle changes, and the key to that is to experiment and see what works for you; your body is unique, and so will be the method you will need to loss weight.

Tip One - Eat fruit and vegetables.

This one shouldn't really come as a suprise to you since it's what dietitians have be saying for years, but see that's the thing about it; they wouldn't be saying it if it wasn't true. This is probably the most important of all the weight loss tips in this article, which is why I wanted to put it first, if you want to loss weight then you really need to get a lot of fruit and vegetables in your diet.

Fruit and vegetables are great foods for weight loss for a number of reasons; they are extreemly high in beneficial vitamins, they have quite high fiber (important both in losing weight, and in life in general; google some imformation on colon cancer if you never want to sleep again), and they are high in antioxidants; which are handy things to have arround as well.

Now getting more fruit and vegetables into your diet really isn't that hard, and it's a great way to loss weight, but I find that some people find getting more fruits and vegetables into their diet to be and ordeal, but I don't think it has to be that way. For the sake of helping people to loss weight I'm going to do some more work on this topic and help people to work out the best way to loss weight.

Tip Two - The best time to eat fruit? When snacking.

Fruit is nature's snack food, and if you want to loss weight then normally snacking is your enemy, but fruit is great for helping you loss weight. I personally am quite fond of apples, you may have your own favourites, but lets focus for now on apples since they happen to be at hand for this discussion.

Between meals is when you are most likely to be hit by the snacking bug. That actually sounds pretty silly now that I think about it; you are most likely to be snacking when you're not eating a meal. Anyway I am quite serious; between meals your blood suger drops like a stone, and that is when people really feel the need to start snacking. Now there is nothing wrong with snacking per se; it's just your bodys natural reaction to not having enough food running through it, but the problem comes in when people start snacking no donuts; there's nothing wrong with the occasional donut, but when you are snacking down on a box per day you are doing it wrong; this is the wrong way to go about losing weight.

I mentioned earlier that I am quite fond on apples. Well apples are quite sugary fruit and when I snack on them between meals it brings my blood suger up nicely. You may not be fond of apples, but I encourage you to try your favourite fruit next time you snack; it will satisfiy your hunger and help you loss weight.

Tip Three - The best time to eat fresh vegetables? With meals.

You should be eating a lot of fresh vegetables if you want to loss weight, and the best way to get these is during meals. Now I understand that a lot of you out there probably aren't keen on the idea of eating a salad as part of your meal; I know it doesn't jump up and down for me, but you are here to loss weight so I recomend you give it another thought.

There are a lot of things you can do if you think that salads are a bit light for you; there's no point in trying to loss weight if you have to hate your food in order to do it.

First of all I want you to understand that I'm not telling you to cut all the meat out you your diet in order to loss weight; you can if you want, but I'm not a vegetarian and neither are a lot of other people in the world. I happen to know that bacon, fried with some honey and water, goes wonderfully with most kinds of salads. So if meat is your thing, I'm not telling you to give it up; instead just look for ways you can get more fresh vegetables into your diet and start experimenting.

Also I want you to consider some alternative vegetables you might want to add to your diet; denser more oily vegetables will be more filling so experiment wildly; your body is unique to you and only you will be able to find the best way to loss weight for you. Basicly if you have an idea and you think it's worth something then give it a go; that is the best was to loss weight.

Tip Four - Dont drown yourself in meat.

Now lets get one thing straight before I get started on this tip; I am not encouraging you to give up meat totally; that may help you loss weight faster, but I don't think it sounds fun, easy, or really that helpfull. That said there is such a thing as taking in too much meat.

A problem with all meat right from the get go is that it is very high in fat, which as you can imagine is not that helpful when you are trying to loss weight. Even a skinless chicken breast weighs in at an extraordinary, but it isn't that helpful when it comes to weight loss.

It's also worth noting that meat are high protien foods with little or no complex carbohydrates. This really won't help you lose weight since this combination of high fat and low carbohydrates tends to deactivate the thyroid hormone; leading to weight gain.

So if you do want to eat meat and loss weight? Well first you have to recognise that not all meats are equal; you need to eat the right kinds of meats; and generally natural is better. You also have to avoid eating to much of it; with a very strict diet plan you can get away with eating meat as a major part of your diet, but for the sake of simplisity, if you want to loss weight, you shouldn't be eating more that 4-5 portions of meat a week.

Tip Five - If you want to take meat out of your diet then you can do it with Legumes.

Legumes are awsome plants; they are able to fix nitrogen in the soil thanks to a simbiotic relationship with bacteria in their root nodes; which makes them a real boon to farmers. All this extra nitrogen means that legumes are really high in protien, and that means that they can help you loss weight.

One of the nice things about meat is the high levels of protien it can hand out, and understandably many people don't want to move away from that; even only to the point of reducing meat in their diet, but if you want to loss weight then you need to increase the amount of complex carbohydrates in your diet, and legumes can help you do that without reducing the amount of protien you're taking in.

If you want to loss weight then I recommend you start experimenting with lentils, peas, and dry beans. I personally am fond of a lentil source on top of spaghetti.

Tip Six - Snack till you're thin

Now I know I said that snacking is your enermy, but hear me out; you can loss weight better if you are snacking throughout the day. What do you think fire fighters eat when they are out on a job? Well aside from the obvious (High energy food, nuts, chocolate; they're not trying to loss weight) firefighters snack. Confused? Dont worry I'll clear it up. Balance is important in all things, and this is exceptionally true for losing weight, you want to keep your food intake balanced, and getting all your nutrition in three big knocks a day is not a good way to do this, instead, if you want to loss weight, maybe you should try 5 meals a day, or six, if you can walk around all day with an IV in you drip feeding nutrients then that would be ideal from a nutritional point of view; even if it would be a bit creepy.

All I'm saying is that if you want to loss weight then keeping a good balance in your nutrition is important, and a good way to go about that might be to spread your nutritional load by snacking. Give it a go; spread healthy snacks arround your house and see if you loss weight.

Tip Seven - Drink lots of water to loss weight

Water is wonderful stuff; it makes up 60% of your bodyweight and is involved in all of the really important chemical reactions that go on in your body; if you want to loss weight then making sure you get enough water is very important.

First of all, and this is very important, don't try to take in four litres of water in two hours and think you're losing weight, you might loss weight, but you'll probably kill yourself in the meen time. Water poisioning is a nasty thing; google it if you don't believe me. I don't think you need to worry about water poisioning as long as you don't force yourself to drink excessively.

Now when you're drinking water to help yourself loss weight you need to take on the 'constant supply' methodology that you apply to snacking. What I like to do is carry a water bottle around with me; I have a travel strap that lets me carry around a drink bottle which I sip from through out the day, if you want to loss weight then I recommend you try this.

Tip Eight - Exercise!

This is actually a major tip, and I should probably should have mentioned it earlier, but there you go. It is a common and serious misconception, but you can't just go on a diet and expect to loss weight right away; there's a reason that doctors recommend diet and exercise.

I wish I could tell you right here what you need to do in terms of exercise in order to loss weight, but I can't; the topic is far too big and is really and article all by itself; you can expect an article soon about the proper exercises to do when you want to loss weight, but for now I give you two really important tips and leave it there.

First of all I really want you to remember that there is such at thing as overworking yourself. As a general rule pain in your muscles is good, pain in your joints is bad, and if you wake up in the morning and really, really don't want to exercise; dont.

Secondly something I really like to impress on people is that if you do a 15 minuite run then you won't be burning fat, if you put yourself though that then all you'll do is burn the glucose you have avalible and you wont loss weight. To loss weight you need to exercise for more than 20 minuites at a streach.

Remember, it doesn't matter so much what kind of exercises you are doing as long as you are getting out there and exercising.

Tip Nine - Don't drink yourself stupid

Beer is empty calories. It really is that simple; if you want to loss weight then you really need to leave the beer behind. Now I know that this simply isn't possible for some people; I was born lucky in that I have no taste for alcohol and don't really enjoy it; so avoiding alcohol is easy for me. It may be harder for you, and if so then I'm sorry. You don't have to quit drinking totally to loss weight, but what I want you to remember is that beer packs calories into you and has absolutley no postive nutrients. Think about that next time you head out.

Diet - Loss Weight Lose Weight

Loss weight with diet

There are lots of ways to loss weight with good dieting, but there are lots of ways to do it wrong as well; this is what this article is about; if you want to know about the right way to loss weight by dieting then please read on.

What you have to avoid

There is a mistake that a lot of people make when they first decide to start dieting. I've made it many times, in all areas of life and I bet you have too. When people start something new for the first time they have a tendency to dive head long into it with reckless abandon, and you know what; I don't think there's anything wrong with this attitude personally; I'm a big fan of NaNoWriMo and I compete yearly, but the thing about NaNoWriMo is that its about pushing your mind to the limit, dieting is about pushing your body.

Let me explain by way of example. Lets say that instead of wanting to loss weight you want to run more as a hobby; a worthy goal, now let's say you get really gung-ho into running and decide that the best way for you to train is to run a marathon every single day. How many days do you think you'll mannage before your legs fold up underneith you? I don't imagine I'm the only person who's learn't the hard way where my limits are.

Now it's the same with dieting loosing weight is hard work, but it's something that people want to do a whole lot so when people decide they want to loss weight the way they like to deal with it is to find the toughest diet they can track down and go at it as hard as they can.

The problem is that weight loss looks a lot easier from the outside. If your plan for loss weight is to dive into the toughest diet you can track down then you are going to run into problems. A lot of self disipline is needed for dieting and this is the thing that people tend to overestimate. Perhaps you are the kind of guy or girl who can push themselves to loss weight like that, but I would bet that you're not.

So here is the first thing you have to avoid if you're dieting: Getting into a really tough diet right off the bat.

There's another thing we're all guilty of; whether we're attempting to loss weight or do anything else and that is losing touch with reality.

Let me explain what I'm talking about by way of another example (I do like examples; they make everything clearer). When I was young I wanted to stop eating candy; I wasn't trying to loss weight or anything, I just wasn't feeling that enjoyable rush anymore; I was eating too much candy and it was interfering with my enjoyment of the process of eating it. I decided that what I needed to do was stop eating candy for a little while; a few days, a few weeks, whatever. I decided I liked this plan; I was excited to be a part of it. I declared myself to be abstaining from candy, and I felt happy about it; now that I was an abstainer I would feel that pleasent rush the next time I ate candy, and with that in mind I went gladly to go eat some candy to sample the change.

So what does that have to do with loss weight? What I'm really trying to tell you is that you are not going to start a diet and immediatly start sloughing off pounds; dieting is a long and disiplined process and it's going to be a very long time before you see the results you want. I want you to remember that dieting really isn't predictable and that your results will vary; you might here about people who managed to lose x amount of pounds in x amount of time, but that's not a target; your body is unique and it's going to react to your diet in a unique way; just stick to the instructions and soldiering on and you will loss weight in your own time at your body's natural speed.

So how do I summerise that? If you are looking to loss weight then you need to stay realistic about your body and what it is cabable of. Second thing to avoid? Setting unrealistic expectations for yourself.

Now there's a third thing you need to avoid when you are looking to loss weight through dieting, and it has its roots in the gung-ho attitude that I previously alluded to in the first thing.

When people start a diet they're all excited; they're glad, they're glowing with energy and they want to give it their all. Now obviously a good diet is worth nothing if you aren't getting enough exercise so a lot of people, when they start dieting, take out gym memberships. This isn't a bad option, although I'm of the opinion that there are better options to get the exercise you need while dieting (subject for another post), where the problem comes in is where people start going to the gym every single day.

I appreacheate that you're proud of yourself for putting yourself on a strict diet and exercise regeme but seriously going to the gym everyday is the wrong way to go about loosing weight. Putting aside the fact that you're just going to end up burning yourself out you, going to the gym every day is actually bad for your muscles. You see after exercise your muscles need time to rest, recover and rebuild themselves; going to the gym every second day should be fine, or every third day, but if you attempt to go every day then you are just going to end up damaging your body.

If you really want to loss weight then set a realistic gym schedule and stick to it, a week long blast at the gym wouldn't turn you into a fit, toned superhuman anyway; remember what I said earlier about setting realistic expectations? The third thing to avoid during diet induced weight loss? Overworking your body.

A lot of people I talk to are less than clear on just how their body works, and that, I think, is what leads to the fouth mistake I'm going to talk about and that is people cutting huge amount of calories out of their diet.

Now limiting calories is an important part of any diet I'll admit, but you can go too far with it. If you are reducing calories in your diet to the point where they're barely even there anymore then you are trying to loss weight with the wrong technique.

Let me explain what happens to your body when you aggressivley limit the number of calories you're consuming. Your body goes into something called starvation mode, and starts trying to get a hold of and store energy any way it can. This, as you can imagine, is not conducive to weight loss or to good health; even the people who do this kind of thing well (The people on CR diets) warn against just diving into something like this; if you limit calories enough in your diet in one go then you are going to start shrinking muscle as well as fat. For those of you who weren't paying attention during biology, your heart is a muscle.

So no; if you're attempting to loss weight don't look at your diet plan, cross out more calories and think that you're doing well; doing so can have long term and unpleasent health concequences. My fourth thing to avoid when you are are starting a diet to loss weight? Aggressivley limiting calories.

My forth thing to avoid dovetails nicely with my fifth; don't just start skipping meals.

I can easily see how this kind of attitude could have gotten started; people know that dieting involves taking control of what goes into you, and they think that the way to loss weight is to stop eating altogether; which is definitely taking control of what's going into you, but really isn't conducive to proper weight loss.

There is a difference between good diet and starvation; the former is a good way to loss weight, and the latter is a good way to hurt yourself. Starvation is even worse than cutting the calories out of your diet; since at least when you are cutting out the calories from your diet the other esential parts are remaining in. I'm not going to go into the gruesome details of what various nutritional deficencys look like so I'm just going to say this; if you want to loss weight then you have to have a good diet; not a reduced diet. My fifth thing to avoid while working to loss weight? Skipping meals.

I've just realised that a lot of things on this list of mine have very similiar causes; my sixth one is verymuch related to the thing I meantioned earlier about keeping realistic expecations while trying to loss weight. I understand where you are, and I know that the day after you start dieting you are going to want to stand on the bathroom scales and see the diffrence, but diets don't work like that; I've said it before and I'll say it again; if you want to loss weight then you are in it for the long haul.

What do you think happens to your body's weight over the course of the day? I'll let you know, it changes a lot; eat a big meal; that's a weight gain, use the toilet, that's a weight loss. If you try to measure your weight everyday then you are going to see that needle jumping all over the place and you are going to get depressed; not a helpfull attitude if you're trying to loss weight. My sixth thing to avoid when you are trying to loss weight? Checking the scale everyday.

I think I'm going to have to do this article in two parts; it's already a long article and I haven't even begun on the things you are meant to do while dieting. Fortuately we are getting near the end; when you are trying to loss weight you have to keep your emotions under control.

Dieting is a long and difficult process and there will be a lot of confusing and conflicting emotions. It's not fun and if you are going through it now then you have my sympathy. You are going to have your driving eagerness pushing yourself through the diet while your wild hormornes buffet you in all directions and the human resistance to change tries to push you back the way you came, but the emotion you really need to work on if you want to loss weight is the emotion of bordom. Bordom is a real killer when it comes to diets; without even thinking about it you can wreck your diet. Do wake up, walk into the kiction and start digging through the fridge, if so then you're going to have to break that habit. It will be hard, I know; breaking habits are never easy, but if you want to loss weight then you are going to need to change the way you think. The seventh thing you need to avoid if you are looking to loss weight with dieting? Making snacking something you do when you're bored.

We're getting near the end of the article now. The eighth mistake people make while trying to loss weight? Thinking that they're the only ones doing it.

You are not the first person to want to loss weight, and you are not the only person doing it right now. Every time you run into problems there will always be somebody who can help you and, more importantly, wants to help you. If you need suport then there are groups and forums full of people who want to know that they're not alone in their efforts either, and you need some advice or wise council then the same thing applies; there are sites all over the intertubes deadicated to helping people loss weight. No matter what you need help with there are people out there to help you; no man's an island; as the old saying goes.

My eighth thing you really need to avoid when you're trying to loss weight? Thinking that you have to do everything yourself.

I think I'll wrap this up with a simple thing for the ninth thing. If you are trying to loss weight then you need to get organised.

I'm serious; you can't manage a diet in your head alone; write down what you want your diet to be, and note everything you actually eat on a peice of paper, be honest; if you slip note it down and think about what you'll do diffrently next time. Set schedules and keep to them.

If you want to loss weight then you need to be serious about your diet; treat it like a business; if you make mistakes then that's okay; you just need to think about how you'll avoid that pitfall next time.

The ninth and final thing you need to avoid if you are on a diet? Thinking you can work the whole thing out on the fly.

Wow, I've been writing for a while; my head hurts; uk2tpvywm6
